BMW R 18 Classic First Edition launched in India, price ₹ 24 lakhs
BMW Motorrad India has launched the new BMW R 18 Classic in the country at a price of Rs 24 lakh which has been brought as a completely built unit.
BMW Motorrad India has launched the all-new BMW R 18 Classic in the country at a price of Rs 24 lakh, which has been brought as a complete built unit. The R 18 Classic is the second product in the BMW R 18 cruiser segment to be designed according to the touring. The new motorcycle gets a different rear seat, clean windshield, addition of leather finish saddlebags, more LED aux lights and shorter and wider 16-inch front wheel. The R 18 Classic is mated to a 1,802 cc air-cooled Big Boxer engine which is derived from the normal BMW R 18.
Speaking at the launch of the new R 18 Classic, President of BMW Group India, Vikram Pavah stated that, “BMW Motorrad has made a strong entry into the cruiser segment with the BMW R 18. After launching the first cruiser in India, the company has now introduced the R 18 Classic which is even better. The new R18 classic is reminiscent of the old times with its stunning style. While its design is inspired by history, its state-of-the-art technology, and riding dynamics will give customers a great experience. This is a great option for customers who like luxurious cruiser motorcycle. "
The new BMW R 18 Classic is powered by an air and oil-cooled two-cylinder boxer engine, which is the most powerful engine in BMW's Boxer series. This 1,802 cc engine is 91 bhp power and 158 Nm peak torque capacity. This engine is equipped with a 6-speed transmission with the anti-hopping clutch, eliminating unwanted rear wheel hop. Reverse gear is also given as an option with the motorcycle. Classic models like the normal R 18 also have 3 riding modes - Rain, Roll, and Rock. In terms of safety, automatic stability control, dynamic engine brake control and hill start system have been provided with the bike.
